2017's Steampunk event welcomed over 2,300 people to Retford!

The organisers behind Retford’s Steampunk festival have announced a new event coming to Retford Town Hall on February 17th 2018.

What’s involved?
Although it will be Steampunk themed, its an entirely new event that’s building on something Retford already loves.

The event is described as a masquerade ball with everyone donning their best Steampunk attire for the occasion. However, there’s more going on beside the ball.

The event will also include a Steampunk fashion show, Victorian style entertainment, an extensive Gin bar and a buffet.

Building on a great event
The masquerade ball is being organised by the same team behind Retford’s Steampunk Festival, which has soared in popularity over the past two years.

This years event saw over 2,300 attend, with people travelling from as far as Manchester and Birmingham. The event took over the town with Bassetlaw Museum, the town centre and Kings Park all hosting different aspects of the event.

Event organiser Kenny Roach, of West Street Galleries, said, “the event was a 100% success on the day, everyone seemed to love it and was over the moon and couldn’t wait for the next one.”

He went on to say, “there was a very good impact on local business as well, I spoke to a lot of people and their takings were up on the day.”

On February’s event, Kenny added. “I want to make these events an annual stamp on the events calendar for Retford, it will be good to see the same enthusiasm again in February.”

With the event taking place inside Retford Town Hall, it does mean there will be a limit on tickets, unfortunately. Interest in the event so far has been very positive, with the organisers already looking ahead to the future.

Tickets will be £15 per person and you can get tickets by clicking here.
